New Work: Portrait of a Voyeur
09Nov08
Here’s a quick look at some new work of mine, it’s called “Portrait of a Voyeur” and is on display at the Poseurs show that opens tomorrow at USF in the Oliver Gallery.
It’s going to be kinda hard to tell what’s going on, as these aren’t the best images.. but here they are.

The first monitor (the one with the camera above it) has the video loop playing on it. The second monitor which is located on the other side of the gallery, has the image of the person watching the first screen. The exchange of the idea of voyeur and voyuee if you will.

So.. hopefully that gives you an idea of what’s going on.. Feel free to critique or comment in any way.. as always.

I like it. Obviously the camera is not hidden. Was there a specific decision to let people know they were being filmed vs. being on hidden camera?
I realized I don’t know how to reply directly to anyone.. weird.
I never thought about hiding the camera, I just figured that I’d leave it out and make you guess why it was there. You can’t see the other monitor when you see this one, you have to make your way around the room in order to find out you were being watched..
That might not make sense.
And you might not even see this comment.
